I've been a bass fisherman my whole life, but I've decided to start focusing on cats. I live in East Texas and am 14 years old. I think I'll use nightcrawlers since they're easy to maintain and everyone carries them. So, are nightcrawlers good enough to use primarily? I usually fish from 5:00 to 11:00. Also, are nightcrawlers good using no bobber and a 4/0-5/0 Gamakatsu circle hook?

Nightcrawlers are ok, but if you use more than one rod, I would vary the baits. Try putting out worms, liver and cutbait on you biggest set-up to determine what they are hitting. Remember that the baitfish and bream will tear your worms and liver up til some time after dark.
