I use a light dusting of corn meal on top of the dirt then cover it with a piece of a corrogated cardboard cut to fit. The worms should eat all the cornmeal within 1 day, when its gone dust them again. they will also eat the cardboard after it gets damp...Do not use too much cornmeal or it will mold.

I use the magic worm food you buy at Walmart, but will switch to corn meal as suggested. Cheaper than the worm food.

What do you all use for worm beading? Would peatmoss work well?
