Here are a few that I ended up keeping cause they were to big for me to use for bait, oh lol by to big i mean i couldnt bring myself to use them cause I wanted to eat them. I have never caught that many big bluegill, all at once. Those were some whoppers!

You just made me hungry. It's been years since I've eaten a mess of gills.

Zach thanks for sharing the bluegill pics. I think you hit the mother load on size. What were they hitting on?

Looks like a fine set of meals you have planned. Its hard to beat going to catch bait and end up catching a mess like that.. I've did that a couple of times. ALOT of fun.. Kinda like getting a scratch ticket and winning 10bucks...

I usually catch all my bluegill on either small jig heads without a body but tipped with worms or maggets or a shad dart tipped the same way.
Maggets usually work better and they are easy to farm if you have a strong stomach LMAO!

If they fit on the hook they are not too big to use for bait. You just fish for bigger catfish!!

My granddaughter and I caught a dozen this morning, but they are bait for Sunday.

Try waxworms also. Up north of me in Michigan at a private lake the gills love them things. Early season it's bobber fishing, last season after spawn it's drop shot time.
