Went out tonight on the Monogahela river and caught a 20 pound flathead in a very strange way. I got to my spot around 8:30 tonight took some frozen suckers and live ones with me. I cast out one big live one then grabbed the biggest frozen sucker I had they were not completely thawed. Baited the rod with the frozen sucker and set in in the water right in front of me to let the warm water thaw it out.Within seconds the baitrunner started go crazy thought I was hearing things picked up the rod and pulled in a nice twenty pound flathead. Had a couple of runs the rest of the night started to gather up my gear and left a dead sucker in the same spot and caught a little 2 pound flathead.Maybe next time I wont even cast the rods out I'll just let the bait sit two feet off shore. Here is pic of the flatty.

That is very strange. But anyways, nice 20lb cat! I had a strange thing happen once, I was fishing off a small dock and i had 2 rods, had a double and got one up, took the fish off, then grabbed the other one up and im standing there trying to get the hook out of it. In the meantime my other pole is laying on the dock and I have a foot on it, there's no bait on the hook and it's in the water maybe like a foot or so, next thing I know, the rod is bending and i picked it up and pulled about a 3lb channel cat out.
