Went out tonight on the Monogahela river and caught a 20 pound flathead in a very strange way. I got to my spot around 8:30 tonight took some frozen suckers and live ones with me. I cast out one big live one then grabbed the biggest frozen sucker I had they were not completely thawed. Baited the rod with the frozen sucker and set in in the water right in front of me to let the warm water thaw it out.Within seconds the baitrunner started go crazy thought I was hearing things picked up the rod and pulled in a nice twenty pound flathead. Had a couple of runs the rest of the night started to gather up my gear and left a dead sucker in the same spot and caught a little 2 pound flathead.Maybe next time I wont even cast the rods out I'll just let the bait sit two feet off shore. Here is pic of the flatty.
