Some thinking about what MIGHT be different from fishing for cats in NY and Northwestern PA (as well as a lot of others states, away from Prime catfish territory)... made my muse a little abit a feeling I've had in spurts- that I'll just nickname the Newby NIMBY feeling. Its bad to be a Newby fishermen without a friend, family or expert to get you started..but It seemed WORSE to me, when there is so few people local that fish for cats. Tackle is hard to get; their's no 'beaten down' trail to the best hole, the tackle shop only hears about catfish as a pest and nuisance people catch when the look for something else, and internet information , even just basic information if there's CATFISH in river or Lake X isn't available... I thought an article about it Might be useful to those new BOC brothers in out of way places, that might be tempted to just leave and give up Catting in out of the way places... The staff, I think, isn't going to approve it for inclusion to the library and this post right here http://www.catfish1.com/forums/showthread.phpp=1330736#post1330736 has been quiet. Most of the regulars didn't feel this way, I spose. well attached, will be the article. perhaps in NY you guys can let me know if you HAVE felt (or feel) this way and below are some recommendations of where to start. Just for the record, I don't feel this way anymore- I've fished for cats up here for nearly a year; and after some work, I've been catching! (well not in the winter:embarassed One small reward for catching cats in out of the way states is to be able to become famous and enter relatively small cats in the states Hall of fame.. I invite you guys to try to beat my Upcoming records (upcoming of course, I've only caught cats so far, near Ny not yet in NY):smile2::smile2:. Posting is fun, even if its isn't so fun to start a thread that nobody responds too -- (so PLEASE respond to my Thread. LOL:smile2::tounge_out::smile2 and I look foward to lots of posts in 09 in NY.
