Just picked up a new 09 wilderness Tarpon 120 a couple of days ago. Lots of cool new features on this yak, hinged hatches, an accessory track and the seat, (best part) is like sitting in a caddy!!! A few pics:

Can't wait to catch the first fish in her! Still a lot of rigging to do, going to install two flush holders behind the seat, and anchor trolley kit, and a new Fish finder (probably a GPS combo) as I like to do a lot of night fishing on lanier.

Will post up the first fish, and the first catfish that I catch in the new boat! Oh yeah, kayak fishing is so addictive, the power boat that you see next to the kayak is one that my dad gave me six months ago, I have not put it in the water yet! I was actually thinking about just selling it to buy a trailer to put my kayaks on! haha!

Nice one, looks like more than the seat is cadillac. The hinged hatch covers would be nice, as well as the way ya can tie down stuff. I'm hopin to get one within a year.

What model is your sonar and where did you mount the xducer?

If I go out, it will be on Tuesday, not sure yet, the weather is getting a bit cold and the fishing may be off due to the amount of rain.....

schoonie, the sonar in the picture is an eagle fishmark 320 from my other kayak, I was going to swap it, but I decided to keep my other yak and get a new one for this kayak, thinking about the eagle fishmark 500c, or maybe even another 320.

I mount my transducers inside the hull directly under where you see the scotty triple mount, that way I get a good picture of my downlines, and also works great for vertical jigging.

Do you use marine goop, vaseline method, etc. on your xducer mount?

I marine goop. My ride has 50 plus trips, the transducer is still gooped to the hull! Works great!

I just got my new FF for the tarpon, an eagle fishmark 480, almost went with the gps combo, but decided that I would rather have a handheld one that I could take on either yak, my boat, or out hiking.

Plan to work on the rigging Saturday, going to spend Sunday at the ATL boat show. Hopefully the weather will warm up soon so I can hit the water!

Hope all works out well. I have been thinking about a ff for my xfactor, but I fish a small river most of the time and can't justify it yet. Maybe this spring... surely it will be time to fish again soon.

Dawg, I haven't even started looking yet, but before I do, I thought I'd ask if you've found any bolts that will fit the Slide Trax rails.
