Hello everyone,I am new to the Richmond area and the James river.I grew up in Fredericksburg fishing the Rappahannock river.I have landed some awesome cats up to 47lbs.I moved here four months ago and am very interested in getting to know the James river and about its huge cats,I have a nice boat but due to loaning it to a friend he did some damage to the hull and motor.so I am stuck on the bank till I get repairs,what I an asking is can someone direct me to some spots when I can bank fish? I will welcome any advice in that area,Thanks everyone and good fishin to the lucky ones who get to go.

Osborne boat landing has a great pier Ive personaly caught many citation cats in that area. Osborne landing is east of richmond leaving the city on route 5 then taking a right on osborne turnpike (next to the 7-11 )will get ya there. Also deep bottom park is a few miles past Osborne park on the same road. Send me a PM for link to a site with great info on fishing in Richmond

OVER IN HOPEWELL AT THE BOAT DOCK THEY HAVE A BANK AREA TO FISH IVE CAUGHT A COUPLE 50'S THERE DUTCH GAP PIERS AS WELL

Welcome to BOC. You are right in the middle of some great cat fishing. Pick up the Virginia Atlas & Gazetteer. It will show you all kinds of places to fish. They are about $20 at Wally World.

The whole park system in richmond city on the james has awesome flathead fishing, if you can stand the snakes and poison ivy,

dont know much about the bank fishing in that area but when you get your boat fixed there are some huge blues just waiting to peel some drag in your area. good luck,and welcome to the boc
