Welcome to Oklahoma! And thank you also for serving! I've never fished OKC, but, I understand there are a few pretty nice lakes down there. I have been to Lake Overhoster a few times years ago.

Do you fish mostly on the bank, boat, or at dams?

Ha ha ha.. i used to live near the base.. still hang out over there once in awhile.. I think the river you've driven over would be the Oklahoma river or Canadian river.. same river different names..

Welcome to the BOC Josh. If you ever get over to the Eastern side of the state maybe we can fish together.

    Thank you for your service.

The flathead is from the dam on Lake Eufaula which is 2 hours east of OKC..

There are also a few lakes around the city within 15-20 mins of the base. lots of eater size cats but not many trophies..

Most of the fishing I do is around the state.. not so much in the city..
whenever you wanna go just holler at me

my wife just moved up here from midwest city to be with me last year. When I visited down there I really didn't see any good places to fish. All the lakes were dirty red from the clay. If you're ever on TDY at Offutt look me up.

Don't knock it Jeff, that dirty red water is pretty clean for central Oklahoma. LOL

Josh, I would strongly recommend that you take a trip to the Okahoma Department of Wildlife Headquarters located at 18th and Lincoln. Thats about 12 miles from Tinker. They have a free Oklahoma Water Atlas which lists/pictures almost every lake in Oklahoma. It is invaluable.

Kinda funny when I get down there from Tulsa and all the ponds and stuff have red water. I remember when I was a kid, my great grandmother lived in OKC, and that red dirt sure stained my jeans.
