Need the model number to determine the age of a johnson or evenrude.
Should bo on the transome bracket or on the welch plug on the motor a shinney plug about the size of a quarter

Love those old Johnson/Evinrudes, they take a licking and you still get parts for them:thumbsup:

Matt is right on with the year
    a little more

    Fuel mix is 50:1

    plugs J4C gap at 30

I gap mine at 35 because I troll alot and this gives me better idle and slows down the plug fouling.

Always use champion plugs in the evenrudes and johnsons.
They were designed to run on the plugs and every thing else I tried didn't give me good service.
You can use a J6C plug in that motor to with good results.
Its a little hottor but will work well
