I'm new to trapping furbearers for money, but I've trapped for pest control for years. I was wondering if there are any others like me and if some folks more experienced could help get us started.

What kind of animals will you be trying to target?

It's mostly just coons and beavers with the stray opossum.

I'm not sure what the laws in your state may be but if it is allowed you can't beat snares. I started useing them years ago in iowa after getting discouraged by thiefs running my lines. You can pack a bunch of them as they weigh very little and the thiefs have a hard time finding them and if they do your not out much. I used them for coon, beaver, coyotes and fox with very good sucess.

I've tried them before and just got frustrated with them. They seem so easy to use but i can't seem to catch a thing with them. Maybe its the height I've had tehm form the ground how I've them setup?

Best thing to do is get with the National Trapping Assn. of America and see who the state rep. is in your area and he will hook you up with a local trapper and get you started. Hope this helps.
