Well, by all means, let me join the ranks of posts with no info in them, but a warm welcome to the BOC...congrats on the catch...I'm in St. Louis myself, never fished down your way, but I've been there...hopefully some can point you in the right direction.

Stockton lake has a pretty good population of channel cats and is underfished from everything I've read. Probably your closest bet for good fishing.

Brian I to am new to catfishin and I fish on the MO. river but along way from you up by White Cloud KS. Caught my first 2 flats today and even though they are the pan size and very edible, I found that from the bank that if you fish just out of the strong current in a backwash area that the fishing can be loads of fun. Used some stinking pieces of shad sides cut fairly small and they went nuts just wish I had more to show for it but my day and yours is coming. These guys and gals have great info on fishin the Mo. Again welcome to the BOC.

Brian, Sac river which starts around, north springfield, will have channels,in it.

I belive their is two lakes, Fellows and Lake Springfield. The upper end of stockton lake should be good. which would be in your back door. and Truman
is hour stright north, on 13 hwy.
check with missouri dept. of conservation they have a lot of good advice.
the upper end of Stockton, should be good for, channels and flats,
probrly will have to go, to Truman or Osage River for blues.
Welcome aboard, If I can help let me know.
    Jim
