Jeff welcome to the BOC...Its a great site and you can learn about anything you need about catfishing.

If you go to the gathering site you will see we are having a BIG gathering at Melvern on June 5-6-7.

There will be some great catfishermen there that fish all over the state for all kinds of catfish. You should try to make it if you can will be a great chance to meet everyone and for us to meet you.

Where in ks are you at?

There is a guy in your area that really gets a fever for catfishn, and I've heard tell he makes some really good fish jerky. Only thing is he he's probably still in bed now, but he'll probably check in later.:smile2:

There's a lot of stuff to go through on this site and the library is one of the
first places to go. Gives you a bunch of stuff to think over because the
folks on the site are articulate observers and really skilled with their hands.
In the Kansas thread you can find detailed info about specific rivers and
lakes by folks that fish them. Gatherings are fun times where you get to
meet some of the people who you have seen posting on the site. It's a
motley crew here in Kansas. Look around and enjoy. It is as good as it
seems to be! I've been on about a year and it just gets better as time
passes. Nose around and see where you fit in!

Welcome Jeff to the BOC. When you say hit and miss are you catching some but not of any size or are you just going out and not catching any at all?

Welcome aboard Jeff. I fish two rivers that are fairly close to you the Kansas and the Blue river below tuttle creek. There are times when it is slow but I almost always get solid fish from either one. I fish below tuttle more then any place. Find cover and bait (shad) and more than likely you will have good luck.
