I recently built this rod holder system for my boat. I made it out of angle iron, square tubing, rebar, bolts, and plate steel. I painted the rod holders with rubberized undercoating. Need to make it detachable so the girlfirend can still suntan on the back while I fish during the day!! Sure beats spending $495 on one!!!

PS The civic is hers not mine. My trucks in the background.

O I forgot. The rod holders are adjustable with the use of 1/2 wing nuts. Thanks for the idea Shane.

That will work, good job! Maybe you want to get some of that liquid rubber to dip your pole holders!

Yeah I got it on my boat here in Muncie. I looked for liquid rubber and couldn't find it. So I just went with the undercoating. If anyone knows where to get it let me know.

Try the electrical section at somewhere like a menards, lowes, or home depot. or an electrician supply store.

Its called plastidip and you can find it in hardware at menards for around $7. They use it for too handles and you will need more than one can and another fontainer to put it in so the rodholders will fit in the dip. It also comes in a spray can but is nearly impossible to find unless you shop online.

Gonna head to menards or lowes. I think I am gonna make a bunch of the rod holders in the next few weeks then dip them all. Make some for the future or to attach to the middle of my rod holder. Just thought more than 4 would = a giant mess with more than one fish on at the same time.
