Got a new edition to the family yesterday. He is a English Springer Spaniel and is just adorable. He is almost 8 weeks old. I have not decided on his name yet.

Hey Paul!! Seeing those pics makes some memories of the English Springer Spaniel we used to own. Those Springers are some of the best dogs I've ever had. Very affectionate and kind around children. Of course you have to train them correctly. Yeah, the Springer we owned was a female and her name was Ginger. Showed the pics to my wife and she about cried. Ginger was very close to my wife and she still talks her sometimes. We're definently getting another Springer in the future. Just waiting until our boys are getting older and more responsible around animals (PETS)!

Name? Baxter, Bailey, Charlie, Champ. Just a few to help!

Good luck with the new family member!! Love it!! Oh Yeah! One of the first times I spent with Ginger was fishing. She stayed with me the whole time, right by my side. Talk about a obedient dog. She wasn't even trained yet!

Thanks Mark, I had a black lab that was almost 15 years old. He passed away last week and it tore me up pretty bad. I figured the best way to get over it was to get a new puppy, and I was right. I feel a lot better now. This little guy is really something!

Maybe name him "Hooch", after the Chattahoochee River . Cute pup no matter what you name him.

Cute dog. My dog was a cute 6 month old puppy when I left. When I get home he is going to be 18 months and 125+lbs. I hope he remembers me:big_smile:

Thanks ya'll! We took him on his first trip to the lake this afternoon. He played around the edge of the water for about 10 minutes, then all of a sudden, he jumped up like a frog and splashed into the water, then turned around and swam about 3 feet back to the bank, all on his own. I don't know who was more surprised, me or him. LOL
