Arkansas river in these parts is finally dropping down to ordinary flood stage, rather than "days of Noah" flood stage.

After fishing last Saturday night with all manner of fresh skip jack, shad, bluegills, etc (live, cut, sliced, diced, marinated, basted, etc.) and not getting a bite, I went back to the jeep for some nasty old cut carp that has been frozen-refrozen four or five times. I cast a big ole piece of cut carp out by a nagivation buoy as advised by an old timer. 30 pound stren, 8/0 circle hook.

Sat down to crack open a cold Mt. Dew, and ALMOST lost my rod. 20 minutes later had a 32 pound blue flopping on the bank!

I like the lower water! Will post pictures monday. It is a whole different world catching these fish over 30 pounds. I am starting to learn most important thing is keeping your head when you have a monster on.

on the PB. I have been eyeing the bouy here at work of late. Maybe before the gentry wake up I could throw a little kittie food that way. Again, congratulations, I am jealous.:eek:oooh:
