Reese and I fished below Cannelton Dam today. Had a chance to finally give my bumping rod a try. I walked a whole shad down a hole, got a few nibbles, then bang! Feeling the fish hit and feeling all of it's power was amazing. Then he started peeling line off my Tekota 600hg, and I got to see how much backbone the Shattered Cat bumping rod had. For such a light rod, it was able to reel in a 58lb blue against current from 60 feet down and at least 100 yards behind the boat. Big thanks to Reese for his great net work! This is my new pb and I can't get the smile off my face. This spot is right down the road from where we are hosting the Indiana gathering in September.
