Well I just want to say thanks to everyone on these boards, your all amazing, the info has been great, and community even better.

Quick Run down. Last few years my cousin (barathke) and I have been out fishing only for northern, bass, walleye, etc. This year we've gave up our $8.00 lures for some hooks & lead, and have been hardcore catfishing sense. Even won our first tournament last weekend(nothing to brag about seeing as it was a small town one).

Here is a collage of some fish we've landed this year.

Thanks again everyone for all the help, support, & info. Hopefully the 50lb club is around the corner.

Attached is the 41lb'r new PB

Congradulations on the nice catch. Looks you've got serveral nice ones. That's enough to break anybody from bass fishing.

Congrats on the new PB, that's my PB exactly! I love the fight and size of catfishing, but I still love the hunt and fight of the walleye on lighter tackle. Catfishing brings all my kids together on the banks, staring from pole to pole, rubbing their hands just anticipating the jerk! It's funny to watch them leaning so far forward that they have to catch themselves before they fall.

Very nice. What is that bait hanging out of the flatheads mouth on the bottom right?

It's the only flathead we have caught with the sunny hanging out of his mouth. (guessing about a 6" green sunny)

Congrats on the catch, but isn't it bad for the fish to hold it by the gills.

I've only heard that here and really be applicable to the ultra bigguns. I just don't agree it is harmful. They are out of the water for 30sec-1minute, I don't flail the fish in the wind, and my hands are parallel with there sides so it isn't torquing on them. They have a spine, but are categorized under subphylum vertebrata. I'd venture to say I treat these cats as good as most treat there kids. Not to mention I like keeping my keyboarding hands scrape free :smile2:. If someone does prove it to be damaging I will most definitely change my ways.
