Ok I haven't been fishing for catfish very long. Well lately the bite has been really slow with the spawn coming and going on so I have been fishing at a buddies lake for some bass and bluegills. Well I have a pole out with a bobber and worm tryin to get some bluegills for bait later on tonight. And while I'm waiting for them to bite, I'm throwing out a Zoom Super Fluke. Well I see this big catfish swim up right under the bobber because the water is so clear and my bobber just flies under and when I set the hook the line snaps. So I'm kind of made and I rebait the pole and I see my bobber still floating under water just moving around in a 4-5 foot area so I know the fish is still there. I throw out by the bobber and after about 10 seconds I see the line tightening up, so I set the hook again. This time I just put the reel into freespool and adjust the drag to lighten it up some. I let the drag tire him out. It took about 15-20 minutes to get him up to the bank. I have no net and no one with me to help get this fish in. So I figure out the only way i can get him in is by just reaching in his mouth and grabbing his jaw. So I do this and he just clamps down and does a head shake/roll. I got him onto the bank with the sacifice of a little blood haha. I weighed him and he was 10 lbs even. I took some pictures and released him. I have caught a nine pounder before, but not on a 6' light action rod with 15 lb test line and a size 4 baitholder hook. It had the pole bent over double and I was kind of worried it was going to snap it. It was a hell of a fight with the tackle I was using, but a lot of fun. Here's some pictures.

Nice channel Brandon, congrats. They get really aggressive during the spawn when they are on top of their beds. If you get any sort of bait over them, they'll take it. That's probably why you kept seeing him towing around your bobber in that little area was because he was still hanging out around his bed.
