I finally found a DD channel cat today on Lake Wylie. I managed a 13 pounder drifting cut perch in about 28 feet of water in some rainy weather.

OUt of thousands of channel cats, it is only the second DD channel cat I have ever caught. The other one came back in 1996.

This becomes my new personal best channel cat.

Sorry for the bad picture. It was raining pretty hard, the batteries in the camera died, and I did not really spend too much time trying to show the fish off well. :eek:oooh: When you compare it to the 40 pounder in my avatar it really looks kinda small....but I was really happy to get it! :smile2:

Ray I think DD means double digit.
Congrats on a real nice channel Dieter. Pic looks good to me but I know what you mean. Channels are the hardest fish to get a pic of that does itjustice.

DOUBLE DIGIT in weight; 10 pounds and over.

We have a lot of channels, but rarely do we have any that break the 10 pound mark.

"....shame that one couldn,t have bit last saturday anyhow great fish...."

    Thanks!!

We didn't need it in the evening tournament, but the extra pounds would have put us close to tied with Cary and Matt and their awesome stringer of channel cats in the morning event. :eek:oooh:

Channel catfish like that don't come along very often on Lake Wylie. I have probably caught close to 2,000 catfish on the this lake since I caught my last DD channel cat.

Nice channel cat Dieter. I've been fishing all my life and have never caught a 10# channel cat.

Good job Dieter. I like that picture. I love them days when the rain is drippin off your hat bill. And you can't see another boat in sight. Its peaceful.
