I went fishing with a friend this weekend, at the same place that I caught a fifteen pound blue cat in July. I had recently switched to 8.0 circle hooks since I had lost what seemed like a few big fish lately. I was using frozen blue back herring tight lined on the bottom. My friend had caught a nice bass, a four and a half pound carp and a few bream, with me catching nothing so far. Being the wiseguy my buddy is, he walker over to my fishing pole and touched it, saying you'll catch something now. About 5 minutes later I got a light hit, I waited a second, then the pole bent over in the rod holder and nearly touched the water. The circle hook worked great, the fish hooked himself. I landed a 17 pound blue cat. The one in my Avatar Pic. I've caught two of my biggest catfish this year. Thanks for all the great advice and knowledge I gotten from this site. Now I'm hoping for a twenty pound monster.

Thanks man. The look on my buddies face was freaking funny when I brought that fish in. That's what he gets for being a smart guy about me not catching anything. I bet he won't touch my fishing rod again.

Greg congrats on the new PB Blue. Tell your friend that since he gave you the luck needed to catch that PB, that you want him to carry your rods to the water each time you go. That you want is mojo power.

That's a great idea Mickey, Thanks! He should carry the rods, the tackleboxes, lounge chairs, and coolers, since I have caught the biggest fish. Ha ha...He'll love it when I tell him that. Then when (or if) he catches the bigger fish, I'll have to eat crow and carry the equipment.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Judging by your guys avatars I have a long way to go, but maybe I'll hook a monster one day. Radish I just looked at your awesome fish, that monster is truely amazing. Congrats! By the way I did CPR both of my big catfish.
