I came up to Indiana to visit my dad for a little while, and we decided to hit up a pay lake..
    I know it's from a pay lake..
    But.
I wanted to do some fishing and he really wanted to go there.
    I caught a 36.6 lb flattie!!
Using a live gold fish for bait on my Shakespeare Tidwater 30L spooled with 40lb Trilene Big Cat on a 9' King Cat Supreme Rod.
Was a really strong hard fighting, and very healthy looking fish.
I'll post pictures as soon as I get them from the bait shop. Theyll have them posted on their site probably by the end of the week

All in all. It was amazing. Same kind of thrill as when I harvested my first buck.
I owe credit where its due and you guys on this board brought me along as a flathead hunter very far this summer.
The fish was cpr'd with a kiss. :)

    Whoo!

I also won 60 bucks for biggest fish of the night:big_smile:

Congratulations on your catch. Keep up your studies here on the BOC and soon enough you'll be catching even bigger fish out in the wild waters.

I wanna say thank you guys for all your support. means a lot to me for fellow catters to show that theyre happy for my catch.
I talked to a guy that was fishing next to my dad and myself about some great places to catch the big hawgs up here in the hoosier state and where to catch the bait to pursue them with. Never met the guy before and he was so willing to help a guy out.
Gotta appreciate people like that. And the ole boy knew what he was talking about, not only did his words make a lot of sense but he had the pictures to back it up. over 60 fish this summer that weighed over 20 pounds. Talk about a great season of fishing.

When I caught it last Saturday they said they would be able to develop a picture for me this week. I went up there again last night and they still hadn't developed any, or posted them on their website. and the picture I took on my camera phone is really really really bad. ha.
