I didnt have sound on my computer, did they say what body of water it came from?
Lake Gaston again.
I figured thats where it came from. You never know, it could be the fish that zack released when he broke the record, thats the beauty of releasing fish.
Sad news >>>
Exactly...even though they tried hard and did the best they could it didn’t make it. There needs to be a better way of getting a trophy fish weighed if it’s a possible record fish. The states DNR’s should work with a scale manufacturing company to come up with a certified scale that can’t be tampered with or it’s not valid, that trophy anglers could purchase. The angler could take pictures of the fish from every angle possible....or maybe a dna kit to go along with pics for identification. Then it could all be turned in for certification. I’m just thinking it shouldn’t take 8 or more hours to get a fish weighed and certified. It needs to be a quick and fair process that the public agrees with so there’s no controversy,(Well reduced controversy...there’s always controversy isn’t it!) that way we can get those trophy fish back in the water ASAP! I know....wishful thinking!
Congrats to them on the fish, Summer heat is tough even with the best of livewells.
Just saw that the Flathead record was broke last night also - 78.8lbs!
Welcome to the USCA forum Justin. There are some great fish being caught. I just hope everyone does their very best to take care of these fish and I hope they decide to send them back to their home.
