New motor

    im looking for a new for my boat but dont want to spend the 5000 dollars for what would be a good used motor to buy

    Well I think a bit more information may help get you a better answer to your question, Like what size of boat, minimum/maximum rating, what your going to use it on how old you want to go back if used?

    its a 1974 magnum 15ft. max is 85hrse. and the only thing im gonna use it for is fishing and prob as far back as a 76 model

    If its rated for an 85 then you need to stay withen 70% of you max h/p range. Try craig list and look for used outboards. I would stay away from flea bay unless you really know what you are doing.
    A good 40 or 50 to 60 h/p evenrude or johnson would work real well.

    If you lived closer to me I could fix you up but shipping one of those things is expensive.

    i too am looking at a newer used motor i currently have a 40 yamaha 92 model but have found a 40 johnson for 3800 that is pretty sweet:roll_eyes:
