    Hello everyone I'm Derrick from the Jeffersonville, Louisville area. Was wondering what some of you all use to melt your lead for weights down in?

    If ya need something fast before you locate and buy a new pot an old coffee can works good. But in the long haul it is best to buy a cast iron pot. You can find them at Do-it-molds on the web.

    hi derrick! welcome to the boc. you will luv this forum. in a previous post it was mentioned do-it molds. they have every lead weight supply imaginable. melting pots, pouring laddles and the molds for various weights and jig heads. check them out on the web. reps to ya!!:big_smile:

    Dwayne, welcome to the BOC/SOC :cool2:, best catfishing site on the web. Be sure to check out the library, a lot of good info in there. As mentioned above I also use a cast iron pot and a propane burner. Always melt your led in a well ventilated area, use eye protection. DO NOT USE THIN WALLED CPONTAINERS TO MELT YOUR LEAD.

    Thanks for the help guys i already have a couple of molds will be getting more. i tried the coffie cans did not work well for me. My Grandfather used them for years but i guess the new ones just are not like the old ones.
