Hi, I am a new member to the site and wanted to say hello. I am from Washington State and will be getting sent to Wichita for work at Spirit, starting in March. Will be there off and on untill July. Since I am missing all of the Salmon, Sturgeon, Trout here I am looking for info in the Wichita area to get out and fish. I wasn't planning on shipping rods and reels back with me. So, I will be looking for guide trips. Hoping to get some feed back as to who I should look at for trips. Since I have never caught a Blue Cat, what is the chances of that happening in the Spring time.

Would also be open to trips with fishermen / women where I pay for the gas and bait too. just looking to get on the water.

I have been a fishing guide here inthe Northwest for for 11 years so I am pretty experinced on the water.

Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the BOC Jim! can't help you out with the area you will be visiting but there are members scattered all over the country. Someone will be along soon enough to help you out. You came to the right place. Blue Cat fishing should be good in the spring until the spawn starts in late May or June timeframe, then it can get tough.

Good Luck!

Hi Jim! Welcome to the Brotherhood of Catfishermen family. We're glad to have you!

We have a guide partnership here on the BOC, but as far as I know none of them are near Wichita. We do have quite a few KS members however; hopefully you'll be able to hook up with some of those folks.

Jim welcome aboard catfish1.com. If my memory serves me correctly Wichita Kansas had some lakes close by that had Flathead cats. I think you may also be able to find Striper action in Cheney Lake but like I said its been a very long time. I was stationed there in the military back in the 70's.

Jim, welcome to the BOC. If you don't mind traveling up to Milford Lake I'd be happy to take you out on the Catoon, no problem with tackle or anything else, just bring a 30pack for the "Captain":smile2:, just joking.
I'd be happy to take you out. Contact me when you get to Kansas.
