Seen in the paper where there was possibly a new kentucky record for skipjack. It weighed 3.075lb and 19.25inches long and 10.25 inch girth. Old record was 2lb 13oz.

Article said it was caught in the Cumberland River tailwater. I never realized shad or skipjack got that big.

The second time we fished below Barkley dam in spring '05 we caught several over 20", one was 24"long. Never thought about records, I was just thinking bait!...W

Speaking of skipjacks are any being caught yet below KY or Barkley dams yet.I'm planning a trip down there April 18.Does anyone know if there still in there pretty thick at that time? I was down there the first of April last year and they were thick, but I dont know if I just happened to hit the peak or what. :confused:Any info would be great. Thanks
