What are ya gonna target? Kahle hooks and Octopus circle hooks in a variety of sizes are well worth it.

I use kahles for pretty much all of my catfishing. Up to about 2/0 for channels and up to 5/o for blues and flatheads - just match the hook size to the bait.

I like the kahles because the fish can hook themselves (with the rod in a holder) and get the hook in the corner of the mouth almost all o fthe time, or you can set the hook (like with a J hook) as long as you make sure the line is tight to the fish first.

i mostly use Kahle hooks for the fish i catch,i have like alot of circle hooks but i just can never get a fish hooked,i no ur supposed to reel in when you the rod loads up,i do tha but never get it caugth,so imo kahles are easier for me

I like the kahle hooks also. Just have really good luck with them. I preferr 7/0 but use to the size of the bait. Don't like circle hooks at all for rods, trotlines they work really good though. Jombie

If the fish are hitting hard I will use circle hooks and let the fish do the work. But if the are not hitting hard I will use a khale hook and I do set the hook, but off to the side instead of stright up.

I use both depending on the set up and bait. But i like Kahles the best, its the best of both worlds, you can set the hook or use it like a circle hook.Win Win situation.

imo the rod will make a big difference. my king kats are great circle rods as id immagine most e-glass rods are. the flex in the rod gives the hook time to make its way to the corner of the fishes mouth were a stiffer rod might pull it out before it gets there.

If I'm fishing with a rod I like the offset J hooks. I've always been a J hooker.I am going to try some circle hooks on a few pole lines and limblines.

I like Kahle hooks from 7/0 up to 10/0. The fish in my avitar was caught on a 9/0.
    When I use circles I like the 8/0 gama's and the 10/0 owner's.
