    I was wondering what a good bait to use in the southeast nebraska lakes were during the winter to catch some decent size blues.. 10-15 lbs.. ive been hitting them good around 1-2 lbs with liver and shad. but i want some size to them.. any suggestions?

    Hard to find any decent blues unless u fish missour river around here and I recommend skipjack for bait but u have to go down south to get it

    Welcome to the BOC I'm am positive that you will find the answer to your question here. I would recommend skipjack for bait if available. If not try bigger bait and deeper holes. Again welcome

    Catching blues or channels are tough in the winter in southeastern Nebraska. I have been able to catch a few 2 pounders at Branched Oak. The best for the big blues that you're looking for is right when the ice gets of the lake a BO. They go shallow and they are fun to catch.
