Hey guys, I am new to the forum as well as a new "serious" catfisherman. I have heard and read that Skipjack seems to be the bait of choice. I want to go to Cumberland City and do some fishing for them. I want to know if the curly tail grubs on a jig head are the correct bait. And if so, what colors? Also, how do you retrive the bait? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome to the BOC. And yes they will work I have used these too. Or you can use sabiki rigs they work i little better. If I use curly tails i will use 3 of them about 8 inchs apart.

Greg Welcome to the BOC, from So. Illinois. Yes jigs will work. Try the white curly tail .Place two or three on line cast out and reel slow. The skipjack will do the rest. Good Luck.

welcome to boc and throw the bait and reel. Most of the time the skippies are up close to the top but sometimes not so if you don't catch them there slow it down a little

Welcome to the BOC GReg from Kentucky. When the skipjacks are biting good, they will hit just about anything. One time I was out of jigs and I used gold crappie hooks tipped with 1 inch pieces of red rubber bands, worked like a charm no kidding!
