I had all winter to decide braid line or mono .. and this is what i came up with..65 braid main line 3 foot 60lb mono to swivel then 2 foot mono to hook... should keep my braid outta the Rocks and so far so good no knicks on the braid yet and the mono holds up well a knick here and their from rocks but i can replace the leaders easy and fast ... only downfall it took me about 10 cast to get used to casting with 5 to 6 foot of line off my rod lol but it is smoothe sailing now :smile2:... will add a pic or 2

that is close to what I do. I use 50 lb. power pro then a rods lenth of 50 lb. shock leader ( I use a uni to uni knot), then I have my swivel then 40 lb. floro. leader then my hook. The shock leader keeps my weight from twisting my line and keeps my braid out of the rocks. I use a smaller lb. test leader than my shock leader so if I snag my hook my leader breaks and I keep my weight shock leader and my braid.

What knot are you using from the braid to the mono?

The best knot to attach braid with mono is the UNI-TO-UNI knot.
