Well after being boatless for the summer i finally found one. 1990 17' spectrum. Got an awesome deal on it and for its age the boat is in great shape always garage kept. With a few mods Im sure it will make a great cat boat!!! :cool2:

Thats a nice boat! It won't take much to make that a catfishing machine.

That's a real nice one. I know you will have a great time rigging it out the way you want to. Then heading out in it.
    Tight lines to you.

Your side rails are so thick you could throw a bunch of angled holders in there.http://shop.easternmarine.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=catalog.catalog&categoryID=437

Exactly what I was thinkin, right on the gunnels. Theor plenty wide enough, and you got the drop on the inside for the space. Is perfecto! But won't it hurt whe you sit in the captains chair? Congrats, sounds like your gonna have fun with it.

thanks for the idea but i dont really want to go drillin a whole lotta holes in the gunnels lol i think i might toss a few driftmasters on the sides then maybe a rod rack in the back not positive though:cool2:

Nice boat man, congrats. I have a 17 foot deep v myself and love it. They make great catboats. Now all you need are rod holders, a rack, batteries, a livewell/baitwell, good finder (if you dont have one already), trolling motor if you dont have one already, a battery charger...on boards are nice...lol and the list goes on and on and on...:smile2:. Congrats on the purchase...but welcome to the money pit that is boat ownership as i found out
