An idea for a home made boat rod holder .

Mount oar locks where you want the holder bar to cross the stern
Attach clamp-on oarlocks to the ends of 1+1/2 inch steel pipe.
Drill 3/8 inch holes thru the pipe where you want the rod holders
Drop in heavy-duty spiral type rod holders like the ones from catfish connection
Don’t ask for pictures cause I don’t pick up the new boat till next week-end
Any improvements or suggestions would be appreciated

having all your rods on one bar will be confusing when you start getting a bite all your rods will wiggle and you won't know which rod the fish is nibbling on.

get some driftmasters you will be glad you did . spend some time with your new boat before ya start drilling into it, ya really mite think of something better, kinda hard to start patching up holes and cuts

    Good advise
If I get a nibble and all my rods wiggle, that's funny!
right about the holes in a new boat too. It's my third jon but the nicest, I'll take out a couple of times and then decide.
    Thanks

I'm like Dale think about it before you start drilling

one of the thing I do is go to Catfish tournaments weigh ins, and I am as intrested in looking over the boats as the fish. Several week ago at Louisana MO there were 97 boats entered got a couple of good idea there

    Thanks Everyone
I've read the entire library, I kind of modified other peoples ideas. I'm just mounting a pipe across the stern using two oar lock sockets. What I have not done is go to any weigh-ins for additional ideas, I'll do that. I'm 62 and been fishing since I could walk, owned several fishing boats and always lived near the Mississippi, but never fished for flatheads before. I've learned so much from this forum it's unreal. Guess it's never to late to teach an old dog.
    Thanks again
