Finally get to post some pics of my new boat. It's a 2006 Cape Craft 16CC with a Yamaha F60TLR motor and EZ Loader trailer. I also installed a Lowrance X-135.

I bought the boat back in late February. I went to pick it up March 4th. It was a 5 hour drive each way. I signed all the paperwork then went with my salesman on a dealer required sea trial. When he was loading the boat back onto the trailer, the keel roller snapped and ended up gouging both sides of my hull - about a foot long and 1 inch deep gouge on each side. He promised to have the damage re-glassed and the boat delivered to my home within a week. Well, I waited about 10 days before calling, and was informed my salesman no longer worked at the dealership. When I asked about my boat, the dealer had no idea it needed to be fixed. The guy had apparently walked off and didn't inform anybody about my boat.

The lady I talked to said it would be fixed the next day, well another 5 days had gone by and it still hadn't been fixed. I had enough and wanted to terminate the contract. I threatened a BBB complaint and if need be, legal action. The owner of the dealership then got involved. I'll admit, he tried very hard to get everything straight, but by that point I was just very pi$$ed off about everything and wasn't very easy to deal with. I was making boat and insurance payments on a piece of property I didn't even have! But long story short, he had the boat fixed, ordered a new trailer with a 2100lb rating (he admitted the salesman bought an inappropriately rated trailer for my boat to make more profit out of our agreed upon price, it was 1400lbs and not wide enough), and cut me a check for two boat and insurance payments. It was finally delivered April 17th to the front of my house.

I played hookie from work and took her out yesterday to break the engine in and practice launching/loading since it was a weekday. She runs like a dream! Thanks so much to everyone on here for their help in the past few months. I've posted tons of questions about anything you can think of with regard to boating, mostly really simple stuff, but everyone has been very patient and helpful!

Oh yeah, she has a name - BEATS WORKIN' Gonna order the decals soon.

Taking her fishing on the James tomorrow! Can't wait.

Hey, that is a fine looking boat!

Sure glad to hear you got everything taken care of. They should have done that right off.. so many times one has to deal with the owner to get things moving.

    Enjoy and good luck!

Josh that is a nice looking rig. Thanks for sharing the pics with us. I noticed that your motor was riding without a motor toter. If you don't have one I would suggest getting one. This will save the stress to your transom. One can be purchased for under $25.00.

Its a very nice looking boat, but if that was me that happened to I would have never taken delivery of a boat they had to fix, I think you should have demanded a new boat and you would have got it.
