I will be moving to Chicago in the next couple of weeks and am seriously going to me missing my home fishing spots back home in Iowa.

Is there any places of decent cat fishing in Chicago with easy access?

I will probably be heading to live around wrigleyville or lakeview!!!

Let me know, always looking to meet some new friends and fishing buddies

Depending on waht kind of cats your looking for...For Flats...i guess would be the Fox River which is about 45min-1hr from where your going to live. But if your willing to travel about 1 1/2hr,the Rock River is an excellent place for Flats(so i heard). But for channels...i would try to forest preserves and the Fox River.

I don't know anyone who has fished it, but the DesPlaines river is a lot closer to you. It is about the largest river in the area, except for the chicago river and sanitary cannel, and I don't want any fish from there (sewage dumping during storms).

The fox and the rock are both very decent rivers you should check out, but you should also check out the Fox Chain'o lakes. I think its just a little north of chicago.
