The rivers still up about 8 ft and hard to fish but the flatheads are starting to move up to the dams.I went to the Humboldt dam this morning and the river is still on the rise but I could see gar, carp and drum swarming. This is what I look for because it means the water has warmed up enough for flatheads.I dropped a live bluegill in close to the boils fishing straight down from my 14 ft rod and one hit almost immediately but didnt move.I waited a minute and slowly raised my rod and he pulled back.He was back under some rocks but with heavy rod and 50 lb line I was able to pull him out.He only weighed 8 lbs but its a start. The kids get out of school today so its fishing time.

Thats what I like to hear. Nice fish.

Those flatties better get ready, they're gonna have 80 lbs of bait thrown at them over the next few days :smile2:

Went back to the Humboldt dam this morning and had two good hits but didnt get a hook in them. The first one hit when I was hung up in rocks for about 1/2 hr and he pulled me out of rocks but let go.Smashed the heck out of blugill though, popped his eyeballs out.:smile2:

Going out tonight down from brownwells to give it a try.A couple buddies have been tearing then up on the limb lines down this way.Nothing real big yet but lots of fish.Biggest was a 28 pound flattie.

We fished until 3am and caught 2 fish. Both channel. We were getting some nice hits until 12am when that low pressure front moved in then nothing after that. How long does it take the fish to start up again after a pressure front moves thru? Thinking about going out again tonight and giving it another try.

I drive a black 4 door z-71 chevy truck with a big Team Fishstix decal on the back glass. We didn't get out there until 8:30. If you see me out there stop sometime and say hey.
