Welcome to the BOC! I would take shad and perch to cut up. Good luck!

Try shadguts or whole shad slashed, or to carp use cut carp. I always done good up there in may and june. Welcome to the BOC.

This time of year if you get there just after a good rain go shallow. Find where a creek is flowing into the lake and throw out the lowly nightcrawler. Five of us set under the Elk Fork bridge one day while the lake was rising and limited out in 2 hours. We use all the regular baits such as perch and shad on our trotlines but for rod and reel fishing for small fish the nightcrawler is hard to beat. You can take mostly channels on stink bait but the small Blues like worms better. One place I had good luck a few years ago is the weir across the front of the Dam. There is a big flat there that drops off sharply. I fished straight down and raised my bait a few inches off the bottom and just drifted. Using Shad I caught Smallmouth, Walleyes, Largemouth and Catfish.
