The Whites are the best in the market as far as I am concerned.

Whites are very good machines. Their top of the line DFX model uses Minelab technology. They pay Minelab for the priveledge of using it.

Brent, Im looking strong at the Fisher 1225X, as I am a beginner and it sounds like a good one for a rookie. And after reading the site Bob put up for us.

I like Garrets myself. I just bought a Garret GTAx 550, I love it. My detecting partner has a Whites DFX ( I think thats what its called), that thing is kinda hard to run but it is a really good detector. He had alittle bit more cake to spend than I did though. I had a budget of 500 bucks, so the Garret was the best for what I had to spend.

They're all fun to use, and will detect the majority of good targets.
