Probably and ugly stick. I just got a Boss Rod and that thing is pretty sweet, it only comes in casting style.

Brian the Glowstik's by Berkley will throw 6oz's of weight but after getting some ugly stiks they are the way to go. The Tigers have a good reputation as well. Take care and God Bless.

I totally agree. A 9 foot Tiger Medium action will cast 8 oz of weight effortlessly. I would go with either a M or MH from bank, not a heavy. But I don't like real stiff rods on the bank, JMO though. But definately an ugly stik tiger!

also, the Bass Pro CatMaxx rods are very nice, but price is same as an ugly stik so I would 'Fish Ugly'.

I just bought 2 12 foot Ugly Sticks. I can cast them 1/2 again the distance I can my 7 footers and it is effortless more or less. I use 5 oz. no rolls and 7-10 inch gills or shad. I love the sensitive tip, as much or more sensitivity as my 7 footers. The length also allows you to get the bait off the bottome quickly to save from snags.

    Good Luck,
    Shawn(OH)

I recommend Diawa Beef sticks. They are twice the rod that a Ugly stick is and at half the cost.:cool2:

I gotta say one more for the uglies. i use my ugly stick light mh casting with 6oz weights and it does fine. maybe abit much for it but i cant complain. tiger stick has no equal...i have the heavy in it and a 10000 big game...and i still havent figured out why...
