New to the area and could use info about the cats in the Tar/Pamlico river. Don't have a boat yet. Good places to go and best baits to use.:cool2:

I live in Washington and have just started to catfish in the Tar/Pamlico. I have a boat. I have only just started so I cant say much, but I do know I've done my best going upriver towards Grimesland. I've caught mostly channel cat in the 2 -8lb range using good fresh shrimp and nightcrawlers. I havent been nightfishing yet but I am going too soon. Are you familiar with Seine Beach in Grimesland. It looks like a good place to fish if you dont have a boat and the water is deep ( for the Tar river anyway 17-25 ft) and moving almost always.

Send me a message and we can share info!! Good luck! Brent aka "Sundrop"

I've talked to the Wildlife guys who have shocked a lot of channel catfish and white catfish around the Falkland and Old Sparta area (upstream from Greenville). They also said some small-intermediate sized flatheads (10-15 lbs) were shocked from deeper holes in that area.
