i went to sooner today & started out at the cold side inlet channel & where the big orange buoys are i went to tie up & saw a bunch of catfish under the buoys. the bite was so good i couldn't even drink my coffee. to make a long story short i caught a bunch of channel's & a few that i think they call mississippi whites. i noticed when i filleted them they had more shells & grass in them than anything else. i've attached a pic, what exactly is it & what are they all about. thanks.

tiny once told me that mississippi whites are nothing more than blues that have been in deep water for a long time,he said that due to lack of light they sort of turn white.

Yep, I'd say the photo was of a blue catfish. The same fish in different parts of the country have different names. Flatheads have so many different names you could almost write a book about them. LOL. But water conditions, clarity, depth, algae contents will all effect the coloration of the fish withing that particular body of water.

Not only is Tiny right, if you check with the OWDC, they will tell you that what people call "Mississippi Whites" are indeed blue cats.
