I just took my 3 year old Son out for his first fishing adventure, He loved it!! after 15 minutes I figured he would get bored and he would want to head to the playground, so I said "Hey Buddy, do you want to head over to the playground?" His response.."No Dad, I want to fish!!" I think we have a future BOC member here at the house...and boy am I proud!!

youve got a right to be proud.
hope he grows to love fishing as much as you do.
i would still pack a couple extra items for safe measure though
my now 10 year old went through a spell were his attention span
wasn't as long as i hoped it would be and if the fish wasn't biten he wasn't
    too thrilled.
he's happy to catch gills all day long but if he has to wait for a cat:embarassed:
    LOL

Got to enjoy them while they are young. My boy is grown. If it doesn't have cords, plugs, or strings on it; or secondary female gender characteristics, just does not seem to hold his attention. Never thought the generation gap would get so large so fast.

Good times good times is right. I took my kids when they were 4 an 5 took them almost an hour b4 they got bored, then just as I was gettin a good picture of my oldest, b4 we left, he got a bite. 2 lb lg mouth bass, next trip out my 4 yr old cought a 4 lb channel. took him home pulled th bass out of th freezer an cooked both fish w/tarter sauce, fried potatoes, an hush puppies, they tore it up. I think that spolied'em, now all they wanna catch is big cats, they like catchin bream, but prefere cats. they r 10 an 11 now, we take walkie talkies to keep in touch while they walk around when they have gotten bored. an when we go, its a family deal, wife an kids, so for that I am truly blessed. Enjoy all th quality time you can w/th kiddos, they will never forget it. I know I still remember all th trips I went on w/my dad.
