Took my son (7 years old yesterday) & his 3 year old twin brother & sister along w/ my wife to the river on Monday. Drew caught his 1st carp. It was a whopping 1-1.5 #'s! :p I let him use my ultra light w/ 4 # test, it still put up quite a fight. The twins started going crazy about 15 minutes into everything. I guess we stayed 20 minutes or so. This spot I reply on "sight fishing" & the water was very dark, so I couldnt tell excatlly where they were. It was still fun.I didnt have a landing mat or anything like that, so the carp got muddy, we tried the best we could to keep it clean. The best part of the whole deal was that Drew was just as happy as I was to release him back into the water. That made me VERY happy.

FYI: If it was late April or early May theres a good chance that little guy would not have made it back in the water, unless it was on a hook!

Hes went through at least 6 combos in 2+ years or so. Those stinking kids poles are junk. I bought him an Ugly stick lite w/ a push button reel but we've lost it somewhere. Probally going to look at the trigger spinning reels soon.

Yes. Many a good man have fallen victim to women. It's a shame.

Women..... You cant live with them..... and you cant use them for cut bait. :p

Hey Bryan, it seems to me that so far in 2006, he is 1 up on you regarding the score board ;)

Im looking for a new mentor, is he available???:)

Good show Mellon, we will have to get him back over there when the conditions are better so he can get a few more of em. ( so we can use them for bait)

    A GREAT start!!
