I had rather have the kids catch the fish than catch them myself......

  6. Catching all those fish gives way for fishing fever doesnt it?

Bream and kids go together 'bout like fried fish and taters. That's the way to get 'em hooked! Looking at his smile I KNOW he had fun and I bet 'ole Dad did too!

The best way to bond with a young one is with a pole and dozen night crawlers.

I have learned that if I take the wife and kids fishing I can pretty much keep my rods in the rod box but I would rather it be that way.

I used to try to bass fish and let them fish with me, it is just too frustrating. It is better to let them catch the fish.

I take my oldest son fishing when I go and am training my 2 and half year old how to reel. It is great to see fathers involved with their children. Fishing is a great way to spend time with them and pass on a great sport!

I love to take my boys fishing. Sounds like you guys had a great time. I saw a sign in my local bait shop recently that I thought hit home:

Hunt with your kids, not for them.

    Says a lot. Great story!

I giggle and jump just as much now fishing for bream as I did when I was a kid. Great to hear you're helping him make those kind of memories, they will stick with him for the rest of his life.

Take a look at the smile on my sons face in my avatar. He acutally landed that 29 lb blue. I'm not sure though if he enjoyed that as much as he did catching the bait though. We were in a cove and the perch were flipping. We caught enought bait for the day in about 15 minutes and he caught most of that.
