Went out to learn new depth finder (Eagle fisheasy 320c) on Aug 6th on the Missouri river. Depth finder was working great. (Display is a little small for my eyes) Found a few shad school marks on the finder and decided to see if it were true. Caught about 15 shad and my buddy and I decieded to fish for a while. Caught a few dinks (1 to 4 lbs) and was gathering things up to call it a night when the drag started singing on the new BPS Magna 35. I picked up the rod slowly tighten the drag down until the rod had a good bend, and the fight was on! about 10 min later my buddy netted my biggest Bluecat ever. 55lbs - took pics and released fish to fight another day! We were using 8/0 cirlce hooks and the shad was about 5 inches long cut the tail off and a few slices in the sides.

Congratulations on your catch. The depth finder may be hard on the eyes but I am sure that blue was easy to look at.

Congratulations on the personal best, theres nothin like haulin in a Hawg. In my opinion a fish finder is the most important tool a fisherman can have, Some of them are so technical that learning how to use all the functions can take some time. Learn your zoom function and I believe your catches will increase. Mac

Gotta agree with Jim on the most important tool. You can do a lot of things poorly but if your on fish they will eat. Nice catch! See ya on the water!

Congratulations on a very nice fish Jim. Been waiting for two weeks to get my fish finder back from repair. They said 7 to 10 working days and it's past that now so hopefully it will be here this week. I miss it. You sure put yours to good use.
