It may not look like much, but the riffle abruptly ends into a deep hole with timber..This is where I caught my pb 50-lb flathead...Dink knows this spot because his buddy also caught his pb here.

This spot is a beast to get to , many steep hills to go up and down as Mellon can agree with.

Looks like a classic Bigfoot ford. Just for technique, do y'all fish above that riffle, in it or just below it?

    Great looking spot.

I think you have a winning spot there. I always look for "Turn Holes" in any creek or river I fish. The one in the photo looks perfect. You have a shallow gravelly area which is putting extra amount of oxygen into the water, dumping into a deep hole. These shallow areas produce a lot of insect larvae which attract the bait fish, which it all then washes down into the deeper hole. The shallow area also warms up much quicker than the deep water. Looks like a perfect spot. The shallows don't look deep enough to put boat in, but a small pram or jon boat might be worth a try if you have heavy enough anchors.

We fish right below it, the riffle drops off on the right side into a deep hole.

Rollo, Jack is just drooling and getting the Shack Nasties waiting for Spring to arrive, its called Fish Porn and Jacks an addict, when the wifes not around, he slinks off to a dark corner of the house, pulls out his secret fishing spot folder loaded with pictures of big fish, places to fish and the sort from under the mattress, really weird fetish stuff here...:embarassed:and then starts typing with 1 hand... Yup... he has got it bad.. heres waiting for Spring to arrive in early April this year instead of June like last year:wink:

    Hang in there Jack!
