Had 3 bluegills in the water @ 7:30, nailed the first one @ 8:30 & second one about 9:30. Got a pic of the first one before it found it's way off of my metal clip style stringer (never use this type).:embarassed: First one was a lil bigger than the second, @ 12lbs 30in. Keep the lines tight!

Scotty avitar picture i believe is one of Missouri state record.
It was a rod-and-reel record flathead weighed 77 pounds, 8 ounces, and was caught at Montrose Lake on April 28, 2003.
He will not brag about it, that the way Scotty is
Some day I hope to get one 1/2 the size :smile2:

Yea no doubt. I'm not sure I would know what to do if I could get a monster like that to the bank.

I seem to get skunked fishing for flats more than anything. Just the way it goes. More rain this morning. Flats will be moving again.

Great fish! I got skunked last time I went fishing for flatties but ah well.

I use those cheap stringers too..and always think...why?...when I haul in something that won't fit on it. I really need to look into a different type.

    Thanks for sharing.

yea, I have fished with a friend of mine alot, who learned that lesson along time ago. In the heat of the moment, by myself, i forgot the cardinal sin of even owning one of those stringers, let alone bringing it with me flathead fishing. I wus saving the fish to show my partner, who had to leave for a couple hours, & get some better pics.

Congrats on the fish. Next time I will make sure I won't have to leave in the middle of our fishing trip.
