Went fishing Saturday night at my favorite central Ohio lake. Ended up with a new fishing partner for the night. Ater banking my small boat on a sand bar back in a cove and setting up camp. I heard a loud noise coming from the brush, couldn't see it at first until he came to an opening on the path dragging his stick around with him like a dog. I'd say he weight in around 40lbs he was a real fat little pig. He stayed near me most of the night at one point I was within 3' of him. He didn't have much to say but it passed the time between the fish I caught.

Nice pics Mike, I'm guessing that he was saying:

"Dude, you're in my spot, I want to set up a dam"

    Any luck with the fishing?

Beavers are territorial sometimes. We parked the boat where a beaver didn't want us to be, and that thing pestered us all night by swimming around the boat, and smacking it's tail, and making racket in general. I was affraid it was going to get tangled in our lines. Anyway, that one looks pretty docile, and just wanted to hang out. Good pics!

I guess if it was a friendly beaver I'd welcome its company much more than, say, a skunk. LOL
