I caught this gator gar a couple of years ago. I posted it on the other board and saw that this board has a whole section on gar fishing. I weighed 115lbs.

OKAY tell us . Was it caught on rod and reel? type of tackle and line size. from shore or boat ? Lake or river? day or night. livebait or lure? Inquiring minds want to know.
Ihave caught them using a piece of 1/4 inch yellow nylon rope ,3 inches long with the ends frayed , the line was tied to the middle of the rope and no hooks used. believe ti or not once they bite the rope there teeth won't let go.
