    I just caught my first flathead last night. It was 33 1/2" long and 19 1/2 lbs. Caught it on a bluegill head in the Wabash river. Gear was a 6'6" med/hvy Ugly Stik with a Zebco 808 Magnum reel, 20# Berkly Big Game line. I'll try to post some pics latter this week. After catching channels for years it's nice to join "the flathead club":lol: This is probaly no big deal for most here but to me and in my area it's considerd a fish worth bragging about. It was the biggest freshwater fish of my life, minus a 34 1/2" 10 lbs. pike. I'm just a big kid I guess.:roll_eyes: - Thanks

    P.S. after some pictures it was relased to the Wabash river to fight another day.

    Dear Brother Mike;
    HOT DOGGIE!!! :big_smile: Man I am HAPPY for ya!
    What a GREAT CATCH! I know of so many Brothers and Sisters, including me, that would LOVE to catch a "Flattie" that large!
    I've even been reading recently about some of our BOC folks getting so distraught at NOT catching a "Flattie" that they are giving consideration of "Throwing In The Rods" as it were.:sad2:
    I sincerely hope they read your post as it will be a good inspiration for them.
    I'll be looking forward to those pics!
    I also noticed that you "CPRed" the "Flattie" too. Brother Mike, you have my admiration for your catch, and my respect; for doing something that not many folks [outside of our BOC members] would even think about doing!
    Brother J.W./Dreadnaught is Right! There is No Stopping Ya Now!:smile2:
    Congrats Again!:big_smile:
    Cordially and Fraternally,
    Coyote1

    I caught it at a public acess site about 2 miles west of Richvalley ( about 7 mi. west of Wabash) off of Old 24. I hadn't fished the Wabash Rv. in years, I'll be fishing there more often now.:big_smile:
