Took my daughter out tonight for a couple of hours took her to a safe place where i felt comfortable with her. I didnt really think we would get anything nice but we did the first hit came about 9:30 on a big crappie I set the hook and handed her the rod but the fish was too big for her to handle so she let me reel it in a nice flathead that went 39 inches long with a 24 inch girth weighing in at 25 pounds. Then fifteen minutes later she got one and reeled it in by herself it was a little flathead but the first one she ever caught.I think she might be the new good luck charm cause the last couple of times I have been out with my buddies we barely get any bites.

Congats on a nice fish and a time out with your daughter. I know how happy and proud you must be, my son caught his first cat last weekend(a bullhead though) and my daughter caught a gill all by herself tonight. They love it and Im sure your daughter does too. Keep it up!!

Congrats to you and your daughter, both! Remember to use the information that where you thought there were fish, there were no fish - and where you thought there wouldn't be any fish, boy, were there fish! Take notes! So, instead of you helping your daughter, she may have just helped you. :smile2: Maybe you can let me borrow her so she can teach me!
